Character History: Naomi was born and raised into a farming community. She was living with her mother, Carolina, her father, Joshua, and her sister, Violet. Violet is younger then Naomi by six years. Although Naomi lived on a farm, she has a pet of her own. Abbey is a two year old birman cat that travels everywhere with Naomi. When Naomi was 16, on June 11th, there was a deadly tornado that ripped through the family’s farm, killing 37 out of 45 farm animals, along with her parents. Naomi, Violet, and Abbey were left to live. Her whole farm was a disaster. Naomi, Violet, and Abbey had no where to go. They walked for miles and miles until they found an old, abondoned, potato barn. This was their temporary home. Two months later, Violet caught tetanus, a deadly disease. Violet struggled with the terrible disease for two weeks. Then three days after Naomi’s 17th birthday, in the middle of the dark, gloomy night, Naomi found Violet dead. Now it is up to 17 year old Naomi, to keep herself and Abbey alive.
Other (Pets, Home...): Abbey is a birman cat. Abbey is a cream color, with brown legs, paws, ears, and face. The tip of her tail is also brown. Although both eyes of a birman cat are usually light blue, Abbey has one pale blue eye, and one olive green eye.
Role-Play Sample: It was a dark, drowsy night and inside that old, abandoned potato barn Naomi was kneeling next to Violet’s dead body crying and breathless. She hopelessly scoops Violet up into her arms, not knowing what to do next. Still carrying her little sisters stiff body, her and Abbey set off to find a burial site for the her body. She tried to stay close to “home”, but yet still wanted to find a good spot to bury Violet.
She walked for about a mile or so, then cam to an old cemetery and figured this was a good place for her sister’s body. She found an old shed with a broken lock. She went inside and right there was a shovel. She went back to the spot where she had put Violet’s body. She started digging, and even though she knew it would take her a very long time to dig a hole big enough for a four and a half foot body. But she knew it was the right thing to do.
After a couple hours or so, she was finally done burying her sister’s body. She knelt down at where Violet’s feet were, and prayed to God to take care of Violet and to keep her and Abbey safe throughout the rest of their long journey.
